About Southeast Idaho Council of Governments, (SICOG)
Since 1976, the Southeast Idaho Council of Governments (SICOG) has been a steadfast advocate for communities across Southeast Idaho. As a community-based nonprofit, SICOG is dedicated to connecting residents with essential public services and resources in a manner that is effective, efficient, and affordable, driving both economic and social development. A key focus of our work is through our Community and Economic Development team, which offers comprehensive, cost-effective solutions to regional challenges. Our efforts include addressing aging infrastructure, overcoming barriers to economic development, and improving access to capital to meet pressing community needs. Additionally, SICOG is committed to ensuring that all communities have access to safe and reliable public transportation. Through services like grant writing, grant administration, and inter-agency coordination, we serve as a vital link between local, state, and federal entities, advocating for the needs and priorities of our communities. To further strengthen our local economy, SICOG manages a Revolving Loan Fund that provides small and growing businesses with the financial support necessary for expansion and job creation. By empowering these businesses, we help sustain the economic vitality of Southeast Idaho, recognizing the critical role small businesses play in our region’s prosperity. In addition, SICOG houses the Area V Agency on Aging, which offers a wide range of essential services to our aging population. In collaboration with senior centers and other nonprofits, we provide in-home care, nutritious meals, caregiver support, respite services, ombudsman assistance, veterans' direct care services, and Adult Protective Services (APS). These programs are designed to enhance the quality of life for seniors and their families, promoting independence and well-being. Through these initiatives, SICOG remains committed to fostering vibrant, resilient communities throughout southeast idaho.
