About Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation

Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (SKED) is a 38-year-old nonprofit economic development organization founded by Fifth District Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers with the help of a group of community leaders in Southeast Kentucky. The organization was created as a regional effort to recruit jobs and industry to Kentucky's Fifth Congressional District, located in Southern Kentucky. At the time, the Fifth District spanned 27 counties. Since then, it has increased to 45. SKED offers a variety of lending opportunities. We finance projects with small and large businesses and lending institutions. We customize our business loans to meet the needs of each customer and coordinate resources to develop a unique financing package. With SKED, you get business loan support above and beyond what a typical lending institution can provide.
