About Southern Marin Mothers' Club
The Southern Marin Mothers’ Club strives to provide a supportive, nurturing community for families to share meaningful experiences, fun, and fellowship that strengthen family bonds. The Club was founded in 1993 and has grown to over 1300 members ranging from Sausalito to Novato, with over 70 volunteers in place to support the Club’s growth and operation. SMMC's Board and General Council is volunteer based. The Board is composed of 12 positions all of which are held by SMMC members. SMMC supports our community and the local businesses and organizations that help our families thrive. As a nonprofit organization, SMMC partners with businesses in a variety of sectors that comprise our local economic network. SMMC builds partnerships with select local businesses that offer ongoing rewards and discounts to Members, and in return are offered discounted advertising rates, among other perks. SMMC also partners with businesses seeking to donate or discount a specific good, service, or venue to one of our many high quality, member-only events. Businesses may advertise either through our blog, smmccrier.com, through our popular monthly magazine, The Crier, or through a paid post in our extensive online community. This team consists of several subgroups and hosts community service projects throughout the year, sponsors donation drives and works closely with the non-profits of Marin County. SMMC boasts over 100 age and interest based playgroups, which are the mainstay of the Club. Additionally, there are dozens of SMMC sponsored events throughout each year.
