About Southern Minnesota Oil Services

SMOS main focus is Construction Project Management. We create civil bidding documents and specifications that are tailored towards the Oil & Gas Industry. We provide realistic budgets and schedules in advance for each project to our clients as it relates to the governing bodies North Dakota Industrial Commission permit stipulations and the civil grading plans. We forecast all costs associated with these stipulations upfront so as to eliminate outrageous time and material work orders submitted by the contractor. This process averages a 2% to 3% over – under cost variance from the original forecast price to final billing documents. We have a proven track record saving our clients 30% to 40% in construction costs in the first 12 months of providing the above described services. Once all of the bidding documents are collected and tabulated we forward all the information to our client with recommendation of award. A preconstruction meeting is scheduled with the low responsible bidder prior to our start date reviewing all contract bidding documents, specifications and schedule. Any and or all change in conditions during construction of the project are monitored, reviewed and approved by SMOS.
