An idea to change healthcare in the Mahoning Valley… The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods was created in 1996 with a singular purpose – to create a healthcare facility for our community that placed importance not just on providing excellent medical treatments, but also how patients were treated. Initially focusing on outpatient services, Southwoods established a new standard of healthcare. The mission was simple: to provide outpatient services unparalleled in quality and efficiency, while fostering an environment that emphasized the individual needs of each patient. Care, compassion and commitment became the focus of every element of the patient experience at Southwoods. Southwoods inpatient expansion In 2009, we expanded our scope of services to include inpatient stays. True to our commitment of providing the optimal patient experience, we designed every aspect of the hospital to accommodate more complex surgical inpatient procedures. Our healing environment features private rooms and amenities such as gourmet room service, high quality linens, fresh flowers and family accommodations. Serving an expanding community need… As one of Ohio’s most rapidly-expanding healthcare systems, Southwoods remains focused on delivering and enhancing quality healthcare. In response to our community’s needs, Southwoods introduced the most technologically advanced and comprehensive imaging center of its kind in our region. We are also expanding pain management and physical therapy services. At a time of uncertainty in the nation’s healthcare system, Southwoods continues to provide enhanced access to important health services while remaining committed to our high standards.
