About Sozo Children

Our mission at Sozo Children is to empower vulnerable children to become thriving leaders for Jesus Christ. We believe all children deserve the opportunity to become thriving leaders for Jesus. Uganda has more than 8.1 million vulnerable children living without their basic needs met—feeling forgotten. For over 12 years we’ve seen how tailoring care to address each child’s individual needs gives them hope for their future. Sozo currently provides for more than 124 children—empowering, discipling, and nurturing them through a Christ-centered continuum of care. We RESCUE children from extreme poverty, abuse, abandonment, and trafficking. We RESTORE families through an integrative continuum of care. And we REPLICATE by equipping children and families to affect their communities for God’s Glory. So far, 25 of our children are university or trade school graduates and are making a difference in their communities. We build meaningful relationships with local Ugandans around Sozo Village by helping transform the community through four outreach initiatives—discipleship, entrepreneurship, skill development, and health. Through Ugandan-led ministry, we established a community-led savings program which allows participants to pay for basic necessities like food, housing, and school fees for their children. Sozo does more than provide entrepreneurship training for these families, we empower them to be successful long-term.
