Space & Bean Co., Ltd., founded in June 2021, specializes in shielding technology that utilizes advanced composite materials to protect devices, facilities, and human bodies from electromagnetic waves and radiation. Unlike conventional shielding technologies that rely on heavy and expensive minerals such as concrete, lead, copper, and aluminum, Space & Bean employs lightweight and cost-effective composite materials with superior protective capabilities. The company's technology is highly scalable, allowing for customization of material composition and thickness based on the specific requirements of its customers. Over the past three years, Space & Bean has developed around 30 types of lightweight, flexible electromagnetic shielding materials, providing specialized solutions tailored to various industries. For example, in the space industry, the company has produced products using lightweight composite materials to protect satellite components from cosmic radiation. These products offer three times the shielding performance of traditional aluminum-based solutions, while reducing weight by two-thirds. In addition, Space & Bean has expanded its material application technologies, producing foldable antennas, portable electromagnetic shielding rooms, and providing EMP protection maintenance services for critical national infrastructure. The company is also currently working on a mass production project with the Ministry of Science and ICT to develop shielding materials aimed at improving the efficiency of wireless charging for electric vehicles. At present, Space & Bean faces no clear competitors in the lightweight protection sector and maintains a technological lead of more than three years over emerging competitors. Notably, the company’s space radiation shielding technology has been recognized by Hanwha Systems, and it is currently preparing for a test satellite launch to validate this technology.
