About SpaceLex
De Kentucky Ad Astra "From Kentucky to the Stars" SpaceLex is the rocketry and aerospace club at the University of Kentucky. We work along with the College of Engineering to grow a love of rocketry and space among students and the community. We work to design, build, test, and launch rockets. We teach students practical skills they can use in their future careers through our various sub-teams including propulsion, electrical, mechanical, materials, and media. Students can learn about chemical reactions, electrical wiring and programming, material testing and design, manufacturing and processing, and advertising. Our organization also serves to help the community by growing a love of rocketry through community events such as involvement in local schools, movie nights, and other events to teach students and the community about the aerospace industry's importance in our daily lives and future careers in the industry. Through industry connections we provide talks and help finding internships and other opportunities for students. We provide leadership opportunities for students to grow in their hard and soft skills.
