About SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY works to promote positive mental health and prevent suicide by normalising conversations about mental health and promoting that nothing is so bad that we can’t talk about it. The team creates and delivers programs and presentations, trainings, community events and fundraisers to workplaces, communities, sporting clubs, and schools throughout Tasmania and Australia. Mitch McPherson established the organisation in 2013 after his younger brother, Ty, died by suicide; and has been sharing his personal story of loss for more than a decade to encourage and inspire others to speak up and seek support when they go through difficult times. We are proud to formally partner with Relationships Australia Tasmania since 2014, which provides Stay ChatTY with day-to-day operational and governance support, allowing us to engage with more communities and individuals across Tasmania.
