About Special Care Inc
Special Care is a nonprofit organization that provides services for children with and without special needs while promoting acceptance and the belief that children are children first. Funding is received through the United Way, various foundation grants, reimbursement programs, corporations, and individual contributions. Special Care is licensed to serve 135 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 21 years. Two thirds of the children enrolled at Special Care have special needs. Some of the physical and multi-disabling challenges our students face are Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Autism, and many other disabilities. The Special Care program is available Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. In addition, before and after-school programs are available for school-age children; summer and holiday programs are also available. Inclusive classrooms and on-site therapy services offer opportunities for children of all abilities to reach their full potential. Families thrive too because of the support and community they experience at Special Care.
