About Special Forces Scholarship Fund

United States Army Special Forces – the Green Berets – constitute our nation’s single largest Special Operations Force. The families of these Green Berets, especially the children, bear a heavy burden. They, too, serve this nation while their Soldiers deploy repeatedly into harm’s way - doing the work they love. We recognize the service of Green Beret families by awarding merit-based post secondary educational scholarships to the daughters and sons of current and veteran U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers. This is the only organization whose sole purpose is to provide scholarships to the children of Green Berets. We have zero employees. A team of dedicated volunteers, partner organizations, grateful donors, former SF Scholars, and universities around the world empower over 100 current SF Scholars and promote the proud legacy of the Green Berets. The Special Forces Scholarship Fund (SFSF), EIN 27-5458794, was incorporated in the State of North Carolina on March 8, 2011, to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and is a charitable, tax-exempt organization as defined by North Carolina General Statute 55A-1-40(4). Scholarships are awarded annually and limited to undergraduate and graduate studies that result in a degree or vocational certification from an accredited institution.
