About Speech Therapy Works
Dr. Nicole Bishop, SLP.D., CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Owner of Speech Therapy Works, a private speech and language therapy practice in Sugar Land, Texas. She also serves as a Clinical Educator and Supervisor at the University of Houston’s Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic (USLHC). Nicole currently provides clinical practicum education and supervision for graduate students involved in the assessment and treatment of pediatric and adult patients who present with a variety of medical and communication diagnoses, with an emphasis in fluency disorders (i.e., stuttering). Nicole is licensed through the State of Texas and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Nicole was awarded The Anne Mauzy Scholarship Award in 2013 from The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association for outstanding clinical performance. She received the Award for Continuing Education (ACE) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2016. Nicole is a Chapter Leader for the National Stuttering Association's Sugar Land, Texas Family Chapter. She also serves as a Peer Reviewer for Continuing Education in Fluency Research (from The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). Nicole served on the peer review panel for the research study, “Temperament and Childhood Stuttering: Theory, evidence, and clinical practice,” conducted by the Vanderbilt Speech-Language Pathology Journal Club. She presented a podium presentation on the topic of “Red Flags for Speech and Language Development” at the “Heirloom Parenting” symposium in 2016. Nicole’s primary areas of interest and expertise are in the assessment and treatment of individuals with fluency disorders (i.e., stuttering/cluttering), speech sound disorders (articulation and phonological processes), language delays/disorders, genetic disorders, and pediatric neurological speech and language impairments.
