Spice Creek Farm is a Black-led agricultural enterprise in Brandywine, Maryland, dedicated to regenerative farming, food sovereignty, and land stewardship. Rooted in the Black Agrarian Corridor, we are reclaiming land, restoring traditional agricultural practices, and building a community-driven food system that prioritizes sustainability and equity. Our farm integrates diverse soil health practices, including cover cropping, conservation tillage, and on-farm composting, to enhance soil fertility and reduce reliance on external inputs. We specialize in nutrient-dense vegetable production and pasture-raised poultry while implementing conservation strategies to restore ecosystem balance. Beyond food production, Spice Creek serves as a hub for agricultural education and workforce development. Through hands-on training, workshops, and partnerships with regional farming networks, we equip the next generation of land stewards with the skills and knowledge to build sustainable farm businesses. Our work extends beyond our fields. We actively collaborate with neighboring farms, agricultural organizations, and policymakers to promote land access, food justice, and environmental resilience. By fostering strong local food systems, we are strengthening the economic and ecological future of Southern Maryland.
