About Spike Design

Background Spike stems from the Swedish radio engineering traditions, originating from the early pioneering companies for mobile telephony and military applications. These companies were early in adopting RFIC design both for performance and cost reasons. This long background creates a fantastic source of experience that Spike utilizes in current and future projects. Team The Spike team has an average RFIC design experience of around 20 years and many of the team members have worked together for 15 years or longer. It is likely that this is the most experience dense team in the world and our customers directly benefit from this. We have no junior designers that we allocate to project, but instead a solid professional team with great drive and a passion for RFIC design. Experience As stated previously, the team has been in the industry for a long time and to avoid being too specific and detailed an overview of the relevant experience is given below. Applications The Spike team has worked with most wireless standards and many different applications. Examples of standards include: 802.11abgn/ac, Bluetooth, GSM/Edge/WCDMA, DVB-H/S, GPS/GLONASS, Cordless/DECT and UWB as well applications like microwave links, medtech and military applications. Our applications have spanned from DC up to close to 90GHz BiCMOS and over 30GHz in CMOS. Technologies We focus entirely on silicon design and have worked with CMOS down to 40nm and BiCMOS technologies up to an fmax of above 180GHz. Obviously most of our design work are done in less cutting-edge technologies.
