Sponte Operating is an Independent Exploration and Production company focused on developing unconventional oil and gas reservoirs via horizontal well drilling and multi-stage fracturing techniques. In partnership with PetroCap, our working interest partner, we are currently developing the Haynesville Shale in the prolific East Texas Basin. The partnership has drilled 16 Horizontal Haynesville wells thus far and we hold 10,000acres of leasehold while operating another 20 producing Cotton Valley and Pettit wells in Harrison and Panola counties, Texas. How we look at the World Our Name: “Sua Sponte” is the motto of the US Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment. Latin for “of his own accord”, Sua Sponte describes an act taken without formal prompting from another party. The fighting spirit demonstrated by Army Rangers throughout history inspires us. We see our role as professionals and entrepreneurs in the energy industry as a daily challenge and a labor of love and service to our country.
