About Sport Central
Sport Central Association is a Canadian registered charity that receives, refurbishes & repairs, then redistributes sports equipment to Kids who may not have access or opportunity. We serve Kids ages 4-17 from Red Deer, up to the northern border of Alberta. We collect equipment for over 20 different sports and have 46 equipment donation locations (and growing) in the Greater Edmonton Area. In addition to the kids we serve through our front door, we have a community outreach program which sends bulk shipments of equipment, locally and regionally, to communities, community leagues, and schools to help build sports related programming. We are committed to keeping equipment out of the landfills by repairing whatever we can and recycling materials we cannot (such as rubber bike tires and metal— we recycle over 20 tonnes of metal annually). The Impact for 2023: - 2,142 pieces of equipment repaired - 1,956 helmets repaired - 2,293 pairs of skates sharpened - 2,241 bikes repaired - 10,534 KIDS OUTFITTED WITH SPORTS EQUIPMENT (48% increase in our services over the previous year) With your help spreading the word about our services, you too are changing lives through sport!
