About Spotlight Education

Spotlight is a professional, impartial and data-driven service for parents of kids aged 6-16. We support families in helping them understand their child's academic profile and provide support and guidance from expert educators. Why do families come to Spotlight? All our families are driven by the desire to support their child's learning as much as possible. Our goal is to provide professional support and guidance, informed by objective and impartial data. You may wish to gain greater insight into your child's current learning trajectory, or perhaps identify specific challenge areas prior to starting with a tutor, or perhaps you are thinking about grammar or independent schools and you want to know if your child can cope with the academic standards. We can support all these, and other reasons, for wanting to find out more. In some cases parents just feel they aren't getting the information they want from their current school, and an independent evaluation is what they need. Our support is guided by a sophisticated easy-to-use assessment that the child can sit at home. This evaluative, multiple choice assessment is designed to look at the skills that underpin attainment in school and can identify those areas that might currently be particularly challenging. Central to our service is the opportunity to sit down with a former head-teacher or senior leader and discuss your concerns or child's needs. You are entirely in control of the agenda and our consultants will answer your questions in the context of current educational trends and how things work in schools. Finally we provide practical next steps and advice. This is wholly impartial and will be specific to the discussion points from your feedback session. Our goal is to shine a light on your child's academic profile and unlock ways that you can support their potential.
