Spur Chicago is a nonprofit organization co-founded by Shaman Cortez and Jessica “JesSoul” Carter, dedicated to sparking transformation through holistic empowerment. Rooted in the belief that growth begins within, Spur Chicago uses its original M⁴PowerED™ model — Mindfulness, Movement, Mastery, and Mentorship — to help individuals and communities wake up, heal, and rise with purpose. We serve youth, adults, and intergenerational families through curated programs that foster self-awareness, career development, wellness, and leadership. From community workshops and school partnerships to inner-child healing and workforce readiness, Spur Chicago meets people where they are — and then equips them to grow beyond it. At Spur Chicago, we believe education is more than academics — it’s a lived journey. That’s why we center spiritual awareness, real-world skills, emotional intelligence, and peer support to create empowered change from the inside out.
