About St Brigid's Catholic College
St Brigid’s Catholic College is a strong, aspirational and faith-filled Catholic community. We believe in the capacity of all students and continuously support and challenge them to reach their full potential. Our students leave us with dignity, a sense of purpose and choices, ready to confidently and successfully participate in the world, instilled with our College Values and guided by the example of Christ. In 2014, St Brigid's Catholic College, Lake Munmorah, commenced with 50 Year 7 students. The College has quickly developed a rich history and now has over 600 students from Years 7 - 12. We passionately believe in the capabilities of young people and developing the 'whole child' - intellectually, socially, physically, and religiously - while maintaining high academic and behavioural standards and keeping the truth of the Gospel at our heart. It is our Mission to provide staff, students and parents with a range of opportunities to develop a greater understanding of “Inflaming hearts and minds in Christ” so they can have a relationship with God and become active disciples in our world today. At St Brigid’s Catholic College, we provide quality learning opportunities that empower students to value education, develop a lifelong love of learning and build the knowledge, skills and dispositions to support them in becoming future-ready. We encourage our students to exceed expectations, including their own and take personal responsibility for their learning. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all. We aim for all the students in our community to acquire the skills required to enhance their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. Teachers foster the development of social emotional learning of students and emphasise the intrinsic correlation between positive wellbeing and enhanced educational outcomes. We invest in resources and practices that ensure the long-term sustainability and viability of our College moving into the future.
