About St. Charles CARE Center
The St. Charles CARE Center, founded in 2014, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen the St. Charles Parish community by building a coordinated network of services and resources. Drawing on the parish's strong foundation of community resources, we aim to foster collaboration and partnership across the public and private sectors in order to improve the lives of children and families. In 2015, we opened the doors of our community resource center in Hahnville, providing residents with a central location to access and inquire about community services and resources. We continue to expand our services and in 2018 we launched the CARE Navigator program in partnership with the 29th Judicial District Court. This is a community-based prevention and service navigation program for young people and their families who are court involved or at-risk for involvement. CARE Navigator identifies and addresses the mental and behavioral health needs of children and families in St. Charles Parish using evidence-based screening and intervention techniques. Furthermore, the program provides high-quality, intensive case management services to families. CARE Navigator takes a holistic approach to helping families realize their strengths, overcome challenges, and ultimately reach their full potential.
