About St. John's Preparatory School
Founded in 1870 by the Vincentian Fathers, St. John's Preparatory School is a co-educational college preparatory school located in the residential community of Astoria, Queens. We are committed to upholding the traditions and ideals of Catholic education. St. John's Prep is academically affiliated with St. John's University and is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents to be administered by an independent Board of Trustees. St. John's is staffed by dedicated religious and lay faculty. It offers classes specifically designed to meet individual students' needs through a challenging and varied curriculum. Courses, programs and activities are designed to help students develop spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, morally and physically.
