In 1968, St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute was founded by one of the world’s foremost authorities on cataract surgery, Dr. James Gills, who has performed more cataract and lens implant surgeries than any other surgeon in the world. Dr. Gills’ innovations have been adopted worldwide, contributing significantly to an industry-wide standard of care. In 2001, Dr. Pit Gills began working alongside his father, delivering the highest level of care to our patients. We are dedicated to providing Excellence…with love; the most advanced eye care combined with personal care and attention. Today, St. Luke’s is a full-service ophthalmology practice offering a complete menu of clinical care and surgical procedures. Our surgeons perform retinal surgery, glaucoma treatment,LASIK refractive surgery and cosmetic surgery, including a wide range of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures. St. Luke’s maintains the highest standards while striving to keep costs as low as possible for our patients. Our 78,000-square-foot freestanding clinic and surgical center is recognized worldwide as a leader in ophthalmic services attracting patients from more than 75 countries. Conducting surgical procedures in our own self-contained ambulatory surgical center allows for efficiency and cost savings that we then pass along to our patients, oftentimes saving as much as 35% over what similar services would cost in a hospital setting.
