About Stable Ground Institute

What We Do Stable Ground Institute, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering transformation through immersive equine experiences. We serve youth and families in foster care. Through trauma-informed, experiential learning with horses, we facilitate healthy connections, build resilience, and cultivate essential life skills such as trust, empathy, self-confidence, and emotional regulation. By harnessing the intuitive wisdom of horses, we create safe, healing-centered spaces where participants can reconnect with themselves, with others, and with their potential to grow. Our programs are grounded in the belief that through connection and compassion, individuals can transcend adversity and chart a new path forward. We envision a world where everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to the support and opportunities needed to thrive—and where advancing research helps horses lead the way to a more connected, empathetic, and resilient society. As we grow, we plan to expand our reach to include domestic abuse and human trafficking survivors, continuing our commitment to providing transformative experiences to those who have faced trauma and adversity.
