About Stan Clauson Associates

Stan Clauson Associates was first formed in 1978 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After gaining extensive experience in public sector projects in New England and the West, Stan Clauson, FAICP re-established the firm in 1998 when he completed his tenure as Community Development Director for the City of Aspen. Based in Aspen, we understand the issues of resort communities and mountain towns. We provide planning and entitlement services, along with creative and sustainable landscape design. We are team players to provide historic preservation, affordable housing, and comprehensive planning to address a range of community and private development interests. We provide responsible planning and creative, placemaking solutions for public and private sector clients throughout the country. Our intent is to identify and develop economic opportunities for communities that will nourish growth while preserving the integrity of place. Guided by the understanding that the built environment achieves greatest success when balanced with the natural harmony of people and place, we only take projects through the land use process that we believe will enhance the quality of life for a community.
