About Stand Up! Girls
Stand Up! Girls is a nonprofit organization whose core mission is to educate, inspire and equip girls from underserved communities with the communication skills necessary to succeed in and lead male-dominated workplaces. Through developing and performing stand-up comedy, our girls learn to own the room – be it a courtroom, operating room or boardroom! Participants hone their writing skills, find their unique voices and gain confidence and self-awareness in a comfortable, fun setting. Our programs foster sisterhood, inclusivity, college-readiness and help develop leadership and problem solving skills! Stand Up! Girls offers after-school classes, weekend classes and intensive classes during school holiday periods, free of tuition or other charges, designed to teach girls how to create and perform stand-up comedy routines. Classes culminate in performances for friends and family!
