What is Standout by Gehad? Standout by Gehad is an online counselling service designed to support the youth with their difficulties of life and to become outstanding. I work with the youth towards an optimistic future through developing positive coping strategies and enhancing life skills. What is the process and how many sessions do I need? I conduct my counselling service on a one-to-one basis, usually once a week for 6 weeks. The number of sessions may be less or more than 6 sessions, depending on each individual circumstances. This will be discussed and confirmed during the initial consultation. Areas I cover: - Bullying - Depression - Covid-19 & its impacts - Family disagreements - Sibling conflicts - Differences in opinions - Addiction - Suicidal ideation/ attempts - Love & relationships - Anxiety - Mental wellbeing - Changes in the family (e.g. new-born or divorce) - Inability to understand or be understood by family members - Other - What are you struggling with? About me: Growing up as a child, I recall witnessing an argument between two members of my family. I observed the situation and realised that both members had valid points of views (from their own perspectives), but the underlying issue of the conflict is the inability to understand one another. Upon my reflection, I decided that things need to change so that we can better understand one another and to avoid conflicts. At university, I pursued my education in Counselling in order to have the ability to effectively interact with the world and to help others achieve the same, as each one of us is a unique individual. I successfully completed a Diploma in Counselling, BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling Theory and MSc Applied Social Psychology. Today, I want to help every single young person I could reach to make their world a better one too. We all deserve to live our lives in the best ways, embracing our own unique attributes and personalities.
