The Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) has represented professionals in the trading and financial services community in the Greater New York City area for almost 82 years. Together with the Security Traders Association (STA) and its regional affiliates, we are the longest active professional organization focused directly and solely on issues related to trading. By harnessing the collective experience and expertise of our members (who represent all aspects of trading including the buy and sell side, legal and compliance, technology), STANY and STA serve as a voice for the trading community; representing our members’ unique prospective with regulators, legislators and the investing public. Our members share a common interest in the protection and advancement of the trading profession. This allows STANY to represent a diverse membership while maintaining a non-partisan approach to advocacy. Whenever possible, STANY approaches advocacy through consensus building and supports change and innovation consistent with the best interests of a robust and continuously functioning market without reference to any one business model. STANY hosts conferences that promote professional development, serve as a platform for influential industry leaders, and provide a forum for networking. STANY is committed to the education and empowerment of its members who receive significant discounts for STANY and STA conferences and events.
