Star Spangled Scholars: Inspiring the Next Generation of Civic Leaders Star Spangled Scholars is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering students with civic knowledge and leadership skills. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of civic leaders through engaging educational programs that make democracy and governance accessible, relevant, and exciting. Our Programs 🔹 International Democracy Day – Students experience democracy firsthand through immersive trips to Greece (the birthplace of democracy) and Taiwan (a modern democratic success story), engaging with leaders and scholars. 🔹 State-Level Civics Competitions – Students research civic issues, debate policies, and compete for scholarships while strengthening their knowledge of government and public service. 🔹 The National Civics Bee – A high-profile competition that tests students on the U.S. Constitution, government, and civic engagement, encouraging them to become informed citizens. 🔹 Mentorship Program – Middle and high school students connect with university mentors for guidance on civic leadership, college preparation, and public service. 🔹 Schoolhouse Rock!-Inspired Learning – We modernize civic education with original songs, animations, and interactive lessons, making civics fun and memorable.
