Welcome to Starbase18 lda, an eco-tourism B&B and living lab in the heart of Portugal. We combine hospitality with hands-on sustainability, education and innovation. Our four modern apartments sit on land we've restored with no-dig gardens, food forests and water reuse systems. Guests experience the comfort of well-designed low impact systems. But Starbase18 is more than a place to stay. It’s a space to explore new ideas: a maker incubator and co-working space for local entrepreneurs and digital nomads. We host projects in renewable energy, circular design and regenerative land use. 'Friends of Starbase18' is our loyalty and ambassador program: members get booking discounts, affiliate rewards, and can choose projects to support directly. As a Friend, you also get access to online consults on topics like permaculture, eco-renovation, or off-grid tech. Together, we test and share practical solutions that prove rural living can be modern, local, and sustainable, by this we aim to inspire others to do the same. Our mission: reconnect people, technology and nature through concrete projects and open knowledge.
