Almost Three Decades of Chamber Leadership: The Story Behind Starfish Partnerships: Our mission is simple: To make a difference in the lives of others, one person at a time. I’ve been at the Walton Chamber of Commerce serving as President for just over 28 years and as I think about what’s next in a few years, I knew I have a strong desire to continue positively impacting people’s lives. This led me to establish Starfish Partnerships, the name inspired from my purchase of an Alex and Ani bracelet featuring a starfish emblem. The card with the bracelet read, “The starfish is a resilient creature that constantly regenerates, intuitively navigates the sea and directly impacts its ecological community. A highly sensitive creature, the starfish can help us sort our own feelings. It symbolizes guidance, intuition and vigilance. A good reminder that we are always guided.”
