About Starr Associates

Our founder, Colin Nicholas Starr, a Civil Engineering graduate from Purdue University and Professional Engineer started surveying from his home after receiving his surveying license in 1973. By 1991, Starr Associates was conceived and he opened his first office on Main Street in Lafayette in 1996. Shortly after, Carol Starr, Nick’s wife, left her employment as a Social Worker to become the Office Manager. In 1997 his son, Todd, a Building and Construction Technology graduate from Purdue University, returned to Lafayette as a Starr Associates employee. Prior to returning to his home town, he worked in the Engineering Department in Akron, Ohio. Todd became a Licensed Professional Surveyor in 2003. As of January 2007, Nick passed the reigns to Todd and his wife Wendy Starr, who later joined the company as the Business Manager. They serve as the current owners of Starr Associates, LLC. Starr Associates continues to grow, recently adding another Professional Licensed Surveyor and Civil Engineer. The current list consists of repeat commercial and residential builders, farmers, mortgage and commercial loan lenders, and home owners.
