About Starting Over
Starting Over Inc is based in Riverside, with eight transitional houses in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties. We empower people who are currently or have experienced homelessness, incarceration, and/or substance abuse, many of us having experienced it ourselves. We specialize in re-entry services, transitional housing, and civic engagement, having served over 900 individuals and families and championed multiple pieces of legislation addressing homelessness, mass incarceration, and its collateral consequences. Regular programming includes the Family Reunification, Equity & Empowerment (FREE) Project, the Marshall Legal Clinic, Participatory Defense Inland Empire, Riverside All Of Us or None, case management, peer support & employment support, and food & clothing drives.
