About Steel Specialty
2024 ABC STEP Platinum Level Contractor 2024 AISC Safety Award of Honor Steel Specialty, Inc (SSI) was founded specifically as a miscellaneous steel fabricator in 1973 and began producing structural steel shortly thereafter. In 1997, we became a member of AISC and are currently an AISC certified steel fabricator. We have two separate production facilities for both structural steel and miscellaneous steel which allows us to be one of the leading steel providers in the area. In our miscellaneous shop, we produce high-quality stairs, handrails, ladders, ornamental gates, and supply stainless steel handrail and cable handrail. SSI builds lasting relationships with our customers, owners, engineers, architects and general contractors. We accomplish this with “open door communication” and being price competitive while producing quality structural and miscellaneous steel products. SSI fabricates many Public/Private Education, Commercial, Manufacturing, Medical, Industrial, Retail, Office, Religious and Senior Living projects predominately in the Charlotte, NC region.
