Steem Foods are the creators of the new and innovative Steem Pack. A structural revolution to the ready meal packaging world, offering a complete one stop solution for better quality, fresher and exiting food to go options. The pack allows for a range of flavours from around the world, from rice infusions to fresh noodle soups all can be steam heated in this new and exciting convenience packaging. The Steem pack can be pre-filled or bought as an option for fresh in store or deli filling. Steem began when co-founders Suzanna and Michael wanted to create a fresh noodle soup using a speciality meat bird know as an Oriental Black Chicken, the bones and skin of this unique bird are black and the flesh gamey. The bird itself is a delicacy in China and eaten as a medicine in a traditional noodle soup. Suzanna and Michael used to rear this bird on their poultry small holding in the Mendip Hills of Somerset, they sold the bird into Oriental supermarkets all over the UK, however the western market was not quite ready for a black chicken! Not wanting to give up on offering people the chance to benefit from the many medicinal health aspects of the black chicken soup Suzanna and Michael set about looking for a packaging that would allow them to create a fresh noodle soup using black chicken bone broth in the bottom and filled with fresh noodles and greens in a top compartment. It was key to them that the ingredients be kept seperate because no one likes soggy noodles! After searching they could not find a packaging that would allow the food elements to be kept completely separate and allow the meal to be re-heated in one go using steam from the broth to re heat the top ingredients. So, they decided to invent one themselves and the Steem Pack was born.
