About Step by Step Early Intervention Society

Step by Step Early Intervention Society is a charitable organization providing exceptional early childhood education, therapeutic and family supports for developmentally delayed and disabled children and their families. Our children’s programs are offered in three main program streams during the most critical stages of development – the first five years of a child’s life. For toddlers – First Steps is a unique program that seeks to fill a gap by providing support and therapy before a formalized diagnosis or funding is readily available. For preschoolers – Our Preschool and Kindergarten program offers a neurodiversity affirming and therapeutic learning environment that helps prepare children to enter grade 1. Children in this program may access Program Unit Funding (PUF) through Alberta Education which is available to children with severe and documented delays or disability. For home support – Funding provided by Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) allows in-home services that provide guidance and support to parents facing challenges in raising a young child with disabilities. Supporting families is where we are rooted and we remain committed to providing a family-centered approach to enhance our therapeutic children’s programs. A variety of opportunities are available for parents and caregivers to connect, learn, and grow alongside others on a similar journey.
