The mission of Step by Step is to assist women who are, have been or are at risk of being incarcerated to rebuild their lives and the lives of their families through strength based programming. Founded in 1992, Step by Step's staff and volunteers facilitate a variety of life history workshops for women in correctional facilities and agencies in western NY and the southern tier. The workshops provide a structured environment for learning and self reflection so that the participants can understand what caused them to be incarcerated, so they can make healthier, better choices in the future.
