About Step Now

Our objective is to use our relatability to empower, educate and mentor young people through imparting knowledge, sharing relatable experiences and giving them a safe place to learn, be heard and stay motivated. We want to provide young people with the strength, mindset as well as the tangible tools to overcome undesired experiences and not let their struggles define them, but rather use this resilient mindset to put them on a level playing field with their more privileged counterparts within society. There are four pillars which form the foundation of our work. We believe that all four pillars are inter-connected and, in order for a young person to reach their full potential, they will need a balance of knowledge across all four areas. We believe exploring these topics at the earliest opportunity will equip young people with tools necessary to make informed decisions that will impact their lives forever. STEP NOW is about prevention and using ourselves as a relatable example to show young people that there are alternatives to gang culture and just settling for mediocrity.
