About Steps Dance School - Garden City KS

We believe dance promotes patience, endurance, respect, artistic expression, and builds self-confidence. Steps Dance School offers individual dancer attention, respect towards each student, and guidance through the proper techniques. We work to give each student a good foundation in dance regardless of whether they decide to pursue dance as a career, a college degree, a hobby, or just for fun. Steps is dedicated to being a part of Garden City and its surrounding communities by encouraging expression through movement, developing a love of dance, and an appreciation for the performing arts. Steps Dance School offers students ages birth - adult opportunities to learn a variety of dance styles, including: ballet, musical theater, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, and Pilates. We have recently added a Fun With Music class for Birth -3 year olds to attend with a parent or caregiver. Over the years our dancers have been able to attend locally hosted workshops taught by students from Juilliard, Focus on Dance Colorado, & Corina Kinnear along with attending conventions in other cities. Steps dancers have performed at local events such as Fall Festival, Tumbleweed, Fantasy Tree Festival, and Hillside Sessions. Our annual recital is held at Clifford Hope Auditorium in May. We break the dances up into two shows, so it can be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Another performance opportunity for our dancers is the biennial production of the Garden City Nutcracker, this is performed on the even years in December. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in two of the four productions. Steps Dance School is located on Kansas Ave. in the basement of High Plains Orthodontics, or west of Golden Plains Credit Union. If you are interested we have a few classes that dancers can drop in and try us out before they commit to an entire semester. Drop in Rates are $20 a class.
