About Steps For Change
Steps for Change (SFC), LLC, is a community based program specializing in the assessment and treatment of 11 to 21-year-old youths who have engaged in sexually harming behaviors. At SFC, our goal is to repair the harm done to their victims, their families, and within themselves while also reaffirming the youth’s intrinsic worth and holding them accountable for their behavior. SFC is dedicated to working closely with the clients' families, in collaboration with their juvenile probation officers, and the human services/public health department (HSPHD) caseworkers. Our individualized treatment plans are grounded in attachment theory, with a focus on the Good Lives Model (GLM) as a framework for growth. GLM identifies sexually harming behavior as a maladaptive attempt to meet one or more human need. Our goal is to repair the harm done to their victims, their families, and within themselves while also reaffirming the youth's intrinsic worth and holding them accountable for their behavior.
