About Steps Insitu

Learning is a journey, and the Steps we take should move us in the direction which allow us to grow and develop. While learning how to walk we are not hindered in which direction we can walk, and with that our company was born. In situ adjective: in the natural or original position or place. My name is Jason Burgess, and I am the founder of Steps Insitu. I have been a Registered Nurse working in neonatology for over 20 years and have been teaching the Neonatal Resuscitation Program for the last 4 years. My love for simulation and the potential it can have to provide a safe area to learn without the risk of becoming the secondary victim of a medical error inspired me to create this product. With Steps Insitu I created an application to run simulated cases in various environments such as the delivery room, or emergency room allow the team the freedom to react to the situation in their own departments and a program which could mimic the responses to any action performed. A fully featured application with scalable difficulty levels to challenge even the most experienced teams and recorded debriefings to review how the scenario plays out. I truly am excited for what the future has to offer for Steps Insitu, as this is only the beginning of my journey to reduce medical errors in health care settings.
