About Steps to Independence

Steps to Independence Ltd is a modern, creative and innovative support provider for adults with a learning disability. Established by two Occupational Therapists with an extensive background of practice within community learning disability services. Our support services offer adults the opportunity to live as independently as possible, in their own homes, or to share with others with whom they are compatible. Support is shaped around the needs, skills and ambitions of each individual and can include activities of daily living, personal care, budgeting, using public transport, accessing the community, healthy lifestyles, and social and leisure activities for example. Occupational Therapy plays a critical role in helping people of all ages to overcome the effects of disability caused by illness, ageing or accident so that they can carry out their everyday tasks or occupations. This service is freely available to all people receiving a support package from us, but is also available to the wider population of adults with a learning disability.
