About Stevens Treatment Programs
Stevens serves adolescent youth whose behavioral and emotional needs cannot adequately be met within the home and community. We work to help youth eliminate high risk behaviors, learn strategies to manage emotions and behaviors appropriately, and to address the impact of underlying trauma. The overall goal of treatment is to assist youth and their families to gain the skills necessary to function safely within a home and community environment. Stevens strives to teach youth to safely and effectively cope with their trauma and re-enter the community with behavioral and educational skill sets that enrich their own lives and the lives of those they impact. The goal of the Behavioral Support Program is to encourage the individual social-emotional development of youth via the use of effective self-coping skills, decision-making skills, pro-social behavior, and physical and emotional regulation skills. Stevens encourages positive behavioral choices, as well as consequences for behavior that is contrary to the youth’s behavioral and therapeutic goals. The Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) trauma-informed model provides the framework for services provided by Stevens. The focus of this program philosophy is the balance and integration of clinical treatment, education, and the residential milieu to create a seamless, supportive, safe and highly structured living environment. Stevens partners with youth, families, other providers, and community as essential components of treatment.
