Addiction, anxiety and depression are today’s most prevalent maladies. One in four people will suffer from chronic anxiety in their lifetime, with the same facing the black dog of depression. Additionally, about 21 per cent of Canadians will meet the criteria for addiction in their lifetime. Often, these two problems are co-occurring, with addiction arising from self-medicating in an attempt to soothe anxiety and depression. At Still Here we come at these with two approaches – recovery coaching and mindfulness. We hold rigorous training in both fields, giving individuals the skills they need to become well-equipped to better manage stress, depression and anxiety. We offer mindfulness training to individuals and corporate clients that want to help ease the stress of daily living and work-related stress. We have found that when people have ready access to skills that reduce their stress, they can perform at a higher level, enjoying increased productivity, creativity and emotional intelligence. Our recovery coach training has become the gold standard for coaches in Canada, offering foundational training, as well as continued development and supervision that creates a credentialed, highly-skilled recovery coach. As recovery coaches ourselves, we offer people who want to change their relationship to substances a safe place to land, to find and nurture their own pathway to recovery, whether they want to reduce or abstain from use. These services can be the catalyst, the gateway, towards living a balanced, meaningful life of wellness.
