About Stockton Harbor Sailing Center
Stockton Harbor Sailing Center began when a group of boaters in Stockton Springs, Maine wanted to share their passion of being on the water and their love of the Stockton Harbor with the surrounding community. In August 2007, a discovery sail was held during which we took people out for an hour-long sail utilizing local skippers and their boats. There was an overwhelming response from the community. A need and desire for a local sailing school was discovered and Stockton Harbor Sailing Center was born. In February 2008, Stockton Harbor Sailing Center received federal 501c3 nonprofit status as an educational organization. The mission of SHSC is “To empower all individuals with the skills and confidence to become lifelong sailors.” We offer a variety of programs year round for children and adults focusing on community sailing and boating. Get on the Water! is our premier, week long educational camp for community youth participants.
