The Stockton Metropolitan Airport serves the current and future commercial, corporate business, and general aviation needs of San Joaquin County; plans, operates, and maintains the safety and appearance of the Airport to meet the highest standards; manages numerous tenant agreements and facilities located on Airport land; and promotes the development of Airport land and facilities for future aviation and commercial related services. The Stockton Metropolitan Airport is located on the Southern boundary of the city of Stockton in the heart of California's central valley. The Airport is conveniently located between two major north-south thoroughfares; Interstate 5, 1.5 miles to the West, and State Highway 99, which borders the airport on the East side, view map. Situated on 1,449 acres of land, the Stockton Metropolitan Airport has an 8,650-foot long, 150-foot wide primary ILS runway, with a take-off distance available of 11,037 feet. The Stockton Metropolitan Airport also has a 4,458-foot long, 75-foot wide general aviation runway. Six air carrier gates adjoin the 44,355 square-foot terminal building. The Stockton Metropolitan Airport recently opened its new passenger hold room which now more than doubles seating for travelers with accommodations for 367 individuals. The new hold room was funded nearly entirely by a $3 million Federal Aviation Administration grant and offers opportunities for future expansion of airline service.
