MATRIMONIAL & PROBATE LAW This practice group is headed by Stuart A. Palmer. Ahmad Nizam also handles Syariah law matters and criminal matters wherever required. The practice group advises clients on matters ranging from prenuptial agreements, maintenance for children and wife, separation, divorce, custody of children and division of matrimonial assets. Recent successes include a divorce involving matrimonial assets in excess of $100 million. The team also provides full estate services including drafting of wills, applications to court , Grant of Probate/Letters of Administration, resealing of foreign grant applications and handling final distribution of estate assets. The team have also acted for clients in applications to court under the Mental Capacity Act for the appointment of deputies. HOW WE WORK We are: - Able to navigate our client through the process hurdles of the divorce procedure, whilst always keeping an eye on the outcome for the remaining family and children and the eventual result of the division of assets. - Always trying to ensure that the client is looked after, and his/her thoughts, feelings and hopes are articulated in the best possible way to the Court for the best possible outcome, no matter how complex the fact scenario. - Able to tell client of the overall picture of the divorce process so that the best possible outcome is reached but never afraid to tell client of the reality of the situation. - Always mindful of the best practical solution, not only the best judicial outcome.
