We are Stratamet Thin Film (STF). Our mission: Produce economically viable coatings that are above the current industry standards in performance and can enable the explosive growth of emerging applications. We are combining the chemistry of a passivation material funded and developed for the semiconductor industry with a new and unique manufacturing process. This process will allow a thin and conformal application process for adoption by current coating markets (2010: $1.6B according to BCC Research) and emerging markets such as solar and LED lighting/signage. 1. The material is Parylene 2. Parylene was first commercialized and patented by Union Carbide in the 50s. The process established then is a Dimer process and still used today. Those patents have now expired. 3. There are 3 classes of Parylene today C, N, and F. F is the top of the market and very expensive. 4. The Parylene market is about $300M today as a subset of a $1.6B conformal coating market according to BCC research. Our film performance is superior in protection at thicknesses that are ¼ that of the dimer films or a 4:1 advantage in thickness and supported by a rich patent portfolio. Deposition rates are 20 times faster than today's material producing a 20:1 throughput advantage. We are now producing qualification material with good customer results. The company has been funded by the parent, Stratamet, but we will seek a small external round to build up a base of capital equipment.
