About Strawtown Art & Garden Studio
Strawtown Studio is a 20-year old arts-based environmental education organization located in the lower Hudson Valley. Strawtown’s mission is dedicated to connecting youth and communities with the natural world through innovative art and science discovery programming. Strawtown’s vision is to maintain high quality educational and cultural programs for children, families, and communities, and to reach more people through our facilitator trainings for adults. As a team of artists, naturalists, and educators, we develop innovative programs that support students in developing artistically and socially so that they become confident, creative, responsible, and nature-connected individuals. Our place-based programs seek to model and inspire environmental stewardship for our local land and waterways. Working with art as a voice for the environment is a signature of the organization. Through the Strawtown experiences, we aim for participants to gain a sense of place and belonging, a sense of self and community, and a sense of purpose for their lives.
