Purpose of Street Child Street Child works to ensure that all children – especially the most marginalized – are safe, in school, and learning. The organization systematically fights poverty through integrated programmes that combine access to education, child protection, livelihoods development, and emergency response. By collaborating with local partners and using evidence-based approaches, Street Child creates lasting change for children in more than 20 of the world’s poorest and most disaster-affected countries. Main goal: To see all children safe, in school, and learning – especially in resource-poor environments and emergencies. Specific objectives: - Create access to education: Direct support for children to access schooling through construction of schools, teacher training, and learning materials - Ensure child protection: Safeguard against violence, exploitation, and abuse, as well as family reunification - Strengthen livelihoods: Adults are supported through the Family Business Scheme with business training and microloans - Provide emergency relief: Rapid response in crisis and conflict zones with temporary learning spaces and psychosocial support Core values and principles: - Local partnership as a foundation - Child rights at the centre - Equality of opportunity and inclusion Supports, among others, the following UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030): - SDG 1: No Poverty - SDG 4: Quality Education - SDG 5: Gender Equality - SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
