About Strengthening Connections Community Services

Strengthening Connections Community Services (SCCS) is a 501(c)(3) trauma-informed nonprofit based in Ohio providing emotional wellness support, peer-led healing groups, grief services, and wraparound care for women, youth, and families. We specialize in personalized, person-centered care coordination and family-based wraparound services that increase the probability of generational healing. Our work centers dignity, lived experience, and cultural responsiveness—meeting people where they are and walking beside them as they heal. We offer trauma-informed training and healing-centered sessions to both our members and the greater community, helping people understand that what happened to them matters—and shapes how they respond to the world around them, including how they show up for their children. Through that understanding, we begin to break generational curses and barriers that have kept too many people stuck in survival. We help individuals and families find the strength to tell their stories, unpack their why, and discover new tools to move forward. Whether navigating trauma from childhood, substance use, domestic violence, or human trafficking, our members are held in spaces that are not just physically safe—but emotionally and mentally supportive. Through programs like Echoes of Love, Scars to Stars, and Men Who Mend, we guide healing journeys with grace, compassion, and a belief that things can improve when we choose to show up—and trust others to help us do the work. We believe in healing out loud together—because healing isn’t linear, and no one should have to do it alone. Our women refer each other. They bring their children. They invite the fathers. We are building bridges back to self, family, and community. Because in our world, we’re all community—and there’s power in connection. There’s healing in connection.
